KHADIJAH'S STORY

At the age of 9, Khadijah was diagnosed with a brain stem glioma which was inoperable and given less than a 2-year survival rate.  As you can imagine this news changed not only her families, but the community and many friends’ lives forever.  She never let that get her down in fact, she never wanted to miss school and had a school board meeting approved to let her attend school even though there were great risks.  A year and a half later she passed on October 1, 2004, at the age of forever 10, but accomplishing everything she put her mind to.  Khadijah was one of the sweetest children ever, very little did she complain, and she always had a positive outlook on life and her faith in God.

She absolutely loved school and had dreams of becoming a doctor.  It is because of her commitment to school and her drive to do the very best is why, her mother, along with a host of family and friends decided this would be her dream to help other deserving students further their education to strive for their dreams.
